1. Investor class

Applicants under the Investor class must have business experience. They must have either:

(b) They must have managed at least 5 full time job equivalents per year in a business for at least 2 years in the period beginning 5 years before the date of application.

CN Tower and Tornoto Skyline, Canada As per the new regulations, an entrepreneur is any person who has managed a qualifying business and controlled a percentage of equity of a qualifying business for at least 2 years in the period beginning five years before the date of application. Applicants must have a net worth of $300,000 CD and above.

In addition, applicants must have the intention and ability to start a Canadian qualifying business in Canada with:

  1. equity holding of 33.33% and above
  2. provide on going and active management of the Canadian business and
  3. create at least one new job for Canadian PR holder or citizen who is other than his/her family member.

3. Self employed class

A self-employed person means any person who has the relevant experience of at least 2 years in the period beginning 5 years before the date of application.

Immigration Process for Business class:

  1. Client provides information and assessment is done.
  2. If assessment is positive, a contact to retain our services is signed with client. A retainer is paid to our firm by the client at this time.
  3. A list of supporting documents to be collected and forms, which the client must complete in draft form and return to our office in Canada, are provided. If necessary, the client will be contacted for more information and / or missing documents.
  4. Once the application is ready, it is sent to the Canadian immigration office along with visa fees of $550 CD per applicant and $150CD for each member of the family included in the application. Under the new rules, applications cannot be filed in any country other than the country of residence.
  5. File number received within 4-5 months time.
  6. Interview letter is received within 24-36 months depending on country where the application is filed.
  7. If the client passes the interview, the immigration office will issue a medical in few weeks time which the client must undergo in his / her country of residence. The same applies to all family members included in the application.
  8. Applicant must also provide a Police Clearance Certificate.
  9. Once client has passed both these tests, the final visa will be issued which is stamped on the passports sent to the CHC office.
  10. Once the client comes to Canada, he will receive a Pink Card (similar to the Green Card of USA) within two weeks time.
  11. Social Insurance Number and Medicare card is received within 4-6 weeks after application is made in Canada.
  12. Under new immigration regulations, an application cannot be filed in any other country unless the applicant has a valid work permit for more than one year to work in that country.
